A Joyful Ring

A ring could be such a simple thing,
If it wasn't a symbol of love;
If the covenant made
wasn't piously sent from above.

In which perpetual circles
Made of metals - Shining;
To beloved ones
Forever held in circle binding.

Only then would happiness'
soft descent like a dove
Eternally knowing that no bounds
Could break such love.

Thus, so could be
the complexity
of a simple ring.

Now, the symbol of such
is yours and mine from God
He has entrusted us with love
and will with more yet.

And when distant from one another
or on separate soils trod,
I'll take with me
the memory
of the Love I can't forget;

And wait to be reunited with
The One I've loved so long
Never a moment
of our sacred union forget.
